Background
About Julian
Julian Lam graduated from Curtin University with a Master of Physiotherapy. He enjoys treating musculoskeletal pain and sporting injuries, with a particular focus on hands-on, manual therapy as the foundation of his practice.
As a hands-on physiotherapist, Julian is committed to upskilling extensively in remedial techniques — including joint mobilisations and soft tissue treatment — to deliver fast, effective relief for patients in pain. Building genuine manual therapy skill is the central focus of his early career.
Julian also values exercise prescription as a core part of recovery. He enjoys taking patients beyond pain relief — using targeted strengthening to build a more robust, resilient body that holds up to the demands of sport, work and everyday life. Hands-on treatment settles the problem; the right exercise plan keeps it from coming back.
Julian's interest in physiotherapy began with his own experience as a patient. A keen recreational soccer player who also competed in sprint events through his school athletics, he injured his lower back playing soccer and strained his hamstrings sprinting during his teens. Working with a physiotherapist to recover from those injuries showed him first-hand how effective good treatment can be — and set him on the path to the profession himself. That background gives him a real understanding of what it feels like to be sidelined by injury, and a genuine commitment to getting his patients back to the activity they love.
