Ilana Viskovich
Physiotherapist – Booragoon
Ilana graduated with first class honours in Physiotherapy from the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle.
She was the recipient of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Cardiorespiratory Award for receiving the highest clinical score during her time in the Intensive Care Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital, and was also awarded the Brooks Running Dux Award by the University of Notre Dame for her accomplishments throughout her degree.
Knee Osteoarthritis is Ilana’s passion. Her honours degree was dedicated to furthering the understanding of the pain associated with knee osteoarthritis. Ilana assisted in the development of a novel Physiotherapy assessment tool for those suffering with knee pain. Her thesis on osteoarthritis and pain perception was nominated for the Physiotherapy Research Foundation Award.
In addition to her musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory achievements, Ilana has also provided neurological rehabilitation to inpatients at Fremantle Hospital. Ilana provided exercise focused rehabilitation to patients with traumatic brain injuries and previous strokes. Her work at Fremantle Hospital was nominated for the Australian Physiotherapy Association Neurological Award.
Prior to working at Move Physiotherapy, Ilana was the head trainer at the Wanneroo Districts Netball Association and previously worked at the Curtin University Football Club. Ilana continues to work as the head physiotherapist for the Canning City Football Club. She is also working to establish the Move Physiotherapy Sponsored Athlete Program.
Ilana believes all injuries and pains deserve to be rehabilitated. Ilana is currently studying Medicine, with the plan to combine her two professional fields to assist many people to live healthy, active and pain-free lives.
